Finnair to commence daily flights on Delhi- Helisinki route.A month after the Iceland’s volcanic ash cloud stalled airline operations in Europe, Nordic carrier Finnair has had a good begining May. The airline has planned to increase its frequency to Delhi from six days a week to daily flights by the end of this year. Finnair, which has permissions to fly to only two destinations in India, launched its Delhi – Helsinki route in 2006. Mumbai was added in 2007 but had to discontinue in March 2009 due to low demand. Airline authorities are quite upbeat with signs of increase in demand and are evaluating to resume services on this sector. They are also evaluating the viability of beginning services to NEW destinations like Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
