Kumbh Mela 2010

The Kumbh Mela is the most sacred of all the Hindu pilgrimages, every 12 years Hindus from around the world converge at Allahabad, Nasik, Ujjain and Haridwar to witness the biggest religious ceremony in the world.

Sects of Sadhus differentiated by body tattoos, paintings and ash dabbed on their bodies, can be seen in thousands as they take a dip in the sacred waters of River Ganga,Yamuna Saraswati, Kshipra and Godavari. It is said that these holy rivers offers purity, wealth, fertility and washes away sins.
